Acceptable use policy
Draft. This text is published for review and will be replaced by the version approved by counsel before paid plans open. Where it is unclear, the plain-language security & privacy page says what we actually do.
AvaClone makes convincing digital people. That is useful and it is also easy to misuse, so these rules are short and enforced. They are part of the terms of service.
You may not create an avatar of
- a person under 18, or a realistic face that looks like one;
- a person who has died;
- a political candidate, elected official or public official;
- a public figure or celebrity, unless you prove you hold the rights;
- any real person without their signed release collected in the service;
- a well-known copyrighted or trademarked character.
You may not use an avatar or agent for
- sexual or explicit content;
- companion, romantic or therapy personas;
- hiring, interviewing or evaluating people;
- deployments directed at children;
- outbound calling or unsolicited messaging;
- deceiving people about whether they are talking to a machine, including removing, hiding or contradicting the AI disclosure;
- putting a real person in a false context: uniforms of police, military or medical staff, political imagery, endorsements they did not give;
- recognising faces, reading emotions or inferring traits from visitors (the product does not do this and you may not try to make it);
- anything illegal where you or your visitors are.
Enforcement
Uploads and Studio images are moderated before use; refusals say which rule they hit. We suspend accounts that break these rules and tell them why; repeat offenders are closed. Anyone can report an avatar through the takedown form; verified reports are acted on within 48 hours.
